Turn an idea into a working product

Most products fail by being built too big, too early. We help you find the smallest useful version, build it in weeks, put it in front of real users and grow it from what you learn. We know how because we build and run our own products.

Start smaller than you think

An MVP, a minimum viable product, is not a rough draft. It is the smallest version that does one job properly for a real user, so you can find out whether the idea works before spending on everything around it.

The usual mistake is a long list of features built before anyone has tried the product. The better approach is to pick the single problem you are solving, build only what that needs, and let real use tell you what to build next.

What we help with

From a napkin idea to a product with paying users.

Shaping the idea

We pressure-test the problem, the user and the first version, and say honestly if the idea needs more thought before building.

Scoping the MVP

A short written scope of exactly what is in the first version and what waits, with a price and timeline you agree before work starts.

Design and build

Web apps with sign-in, roles, payments and the integrations the product needs, designed and built in-house.

Launch with real users

A pilot with a small group, with the tracking in place to see how it is actually used.

Iterating

Fixes and new features prioritized by what users do, delivered in small stages rather than one big release.

Running it

Hosting, monitoring, support and updates, so the product keeps working after launch.

How an MVP project runs

  1. Define the problem and the user

Who has the problem, how they cope today and what a successful first version would change for them.

  2. Cut to the smallest useful version

We list every feature, then remove everything the first user can live without.

  3. Build in stages

Working software in your hands early and often, instead of one reveal at the end.

  4. Put it in front of real users

A small launch, with the way people use it recorded.

  5. Learn and decide

Keep going, change direction or stop, based on evidence, with the next stage scoped separately.

What to expect on cost and timeline

Scope and price are agreed in writing before any work starts, and new projects start at $3,000 CAD. A focused first version typically fits inside our usual window of 2 to 6 weeks from kickoff. Anything larger is split into stages, each with its own scope and price, so you decide whether to continue after seeing what the last stage achieved.

The work is done in-house in Toronto by the people you speak to. If we think an idea is not ready or a ready-made tool would do the job, we say so before you spend anything.

Who this suits

Founders and owners with a product idea and a real user in mind.

  • Non-technical founders with an idea and no development team
  • Owners who want software built around a process nobody sells
  • Teams that outgrew a spreadsheet and need a proper tool
  • Businesses adding a new digital product or service line
  • Founders who want to test demand before committing to a bigger build

Questions we get asked

What is an MVP?

A minimum viable product is the smallest version of a product that does one job properly for a real user, so you can learn whether the idea works before building everything around it.

How much does it cost to build an MVP?

Scope and price are agreed in writing before work starts, and new projects start at $3,000 CAD. The cost depends on how much the first version needs to do, and we help you cut it to what is essential.

How long does an MVP take?

A focused first version typically fits inside 2 to 6 weeks from kickoff. Larger products are built in stages, each scoped and priced separately.

I am not technical. Can you still help?

Yes. Many of our clients are not technical. We work in plain language, explain the choices and keep the decisions about what to build in your hands.

Will it work on phones?

We build web apps that work on phones and desktops. If you need a native mobile app, we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit for that.

What if the idea is not ready?

Then we say so before you spend money. We would rather help you sharpen the problem or test demand cheaply than build a product nobody asked for.

Do you keep working on the product after launch?

If you want us to. We can host, monitor and support the product and ship improvements in small stages, with support scoped to what you need.

Want to talk about product and mvp development?

Tell us what you do and what you want more of. In 15 minutes we will say whether we are the right people and roughly what it would cost. If we are not the right fit, we will say so on the call.
