AI consulting · Toronto & the GTA
AI consulting for small businesses in Toronto
Before you build anything, find out what is worth building. Our AI readiness assessment looks at how your business actually runs, finds the pain points that cost you the most, and ends with a ranked list and a 90-day plan written for owners, not engineers.
Practical AI consulting for owners, not enterprises
Most AI advice is written for companies with an innovation team. If you run a small business, you have a different question: where, specifically, would this save me time or win me work, and what would it cost to find out?
That is the question the assessment answers. It is a short, fixed-scope piece of work with a clear output. You come away knowing which processes are worth changing, what to do first, whether to build, buy or connect, and what each step would cost, before committing to any of it.
The AI readiness assessment
Intake call
A free 15-minute call. You tell us what you do and where it hurts. We tell you whether an assessment makes sense and what it would involve.
Discovery sessions
Working sessions with you and the people who do the work. We walk through real recent jobs end to end and look at the tools and files involved.
Analysis
We map the key workflows, estimate where time and money go, and score each opportunity by value, effort and risk.
Roadmap
We present a ranked list of opportunities and a 90-day plan, in plain language, and answer your questions.
Decide
You choose what to do next. If you want a pilot built, we give you a written scope, price and timeline. If not, the roadmap is yours.
What we look at
Six areas, because AI value depends on more than the technology.
Processes
How enquiries, quotes, scheduling, delivery, invoicing and follow-up actually happen today, and where they stall.
Tools and data
What software you use, how it connects, and where your customer and job information is stored.
People and capacity
Who does what, where the bottlenecks are and which tasks consume skilled people’s time.
Customer experience
Where customers wait, get frustrated or drop out, and what a faster reply would be worth.
Risk and privacy
What information would be touched, who would see it and which controls the work needs.
Cost and return
What the current approach costs in time, subscriptions and missed work, and what a fix would need to return to be worthwhile.
What you receive
Everything in writing, in plain language.
Process maps
The workflows that matter, drawn step by step with the pain points marked.
A ranked opportunity list
Each opportunity with an estimated cost, an estimated effort to fix and a recommendation.
A build, buy or connect view
A straight answer for each one, including when the answer is to change nothing.
A 90-day roadmap
What to do first, second and third, with a pilot defined for the first.
Risk and data notes
What each change would touch and the controls we would put in place.
A fixed-scope proposal
If you want us to build the pilot, the scope, price and timeline in writing.
Who this suits
The assessment works best for owner-led businesses that are busy and growing.
- Service businesses with a lot of enquiries, quotes and scheduling
- Clinics, practices and professional firms with heavy admin
- Businesses running on spreadsheets and a pile of disconnected tools
- Owners who suspect AI could help but do not know where to begin
- Teams that tried a tool, found it did not fit and want a clearer plan
- Businesses paying for software they mostly work around
From advice to a working system
Consulting is the first step, not a sales funnel. The roadmap is yours to keep and act on with us or with anyone else. If you do want it built, the same people who ran the assessment design and build the pilot, so nothing is lost in the hand-off and the plan does not turn into a document on a shelf.
We build in stages. A first pilot is typically scoped to fit inside 2 to 6 weeks from kickoff, with a measure of success agreed in advance. If it earns its place, we extend it. If it does not, we say so and stop.
Working with us
We are based in Toronto, with offices in East York and Woodbridge, and work with businesses across Toronto, North York, Vaughan, Mississauga and the wider GTA. Sessions happen in person by arrangement or over video, and most of the analysis happens in between, so it fits around a working week.
Scope and price are agreed in writing before the assessment starts, and if the scope changes you see the cost first and get to say no.
Questions we get asked
What is an AI readiness assessment?
A short, fixed-scope piece of work that looks at how your business runs, finds the pain points that cost you the most, and ends with a ranked list of opportunities and a 90-day plan, so you know what is worth doing before you spend on building it.
How long does the assessment take?
It depends on the size of the business and the number of workflows, and we agree the timeline in writing before starting. The work is deliberately compact so that it fits around a working week.
How much does AI consulting cost?
Scope and price are agreed in writing before work starts, so you know the cost of the assessment up front. It is scoped separately from any build, so you can decide on each step on its own merits.
Do I have to build with you afterwards?
No. The roadmap is yours to keep and act on with us or with anyone else. If you want it built, we will give you a written scope, price and timeline.
What if the answer is that I do not need AI?
Then we say so. Plain automation or connecting your existing tools is often cheaper and more reliable, and we will recommend it even if it means a smaller engagement for us.
Who from my team needs to be involved?
You, as the owner or decision-maker, and one or two of the people who do the work day to day. The people on the ground usually know where the time goes better than anyone.
Can you consult remotely?
Yes. Most sessions work well over video, and we meet in person by arrangement for businesses in Toronto, Vaughan and the GTA.
